Jack Meehan dances night away on New Year's Eve

Dad and I welcomed in the New Year with about 200 people at a dance at Oakwood Manor on Dec. 31, 2008.
We shared a table with our Irish friends and with Jack and Annette Michaels, the other Jack who plays the sax with Dad almost everyday. Such fun!

Dad and I attended the New Year Eve's dance at Oakwood Manor. We shared a table with our friends, Joe and Margaret Mintern, Hank and Maureen Kelly, Jack and Annette Michaels. Dad danced most of the dances! What a blessed change from last New Year's Eve when Dad was in the hospital with a broken hip. During the dance the community served a delicious supper of shrimp, veggies, meat balls, cheese and an assortment of desserts as well as wine, beer, soda and coffee all for the price of $16!! It was heartening to see how many folks came up and welcomed Dad back to action on the dance floor!
On most days, Dad and I swim in our junior olympic heated pool. Dad walks back and forth in the pool to strengthen his muscles humming his favorite tunes as he walks. In the afternoon, he practices his music and people stop by to compliment him. Last week, a woman from our park came in to listen to his music. She said she was bored as her husband was watching football and she loved the music. Several people have requested that Dad play at the pool area for the community. We both are enjoying our time here. On Saturday evenings, we celebrate liturgy with our faith community, Mary, Mother of Jesus House Church. We enjoy our fun times with our friends such as New Year's Eve. and Christmas. See below.
